Kyle Smith
Kyle Smith is a High Point University AmeriCorps VISTA Member. He works on building capacity for World Relief Triad, an Immigrant & Refugee resettlement organization funded by the U.S. Department of State. As a capacity builder, he collaborates with local foundations, develops organizational partnerships, and connects the appropriate programs and services to newly arrived vulnerable international populations.
Kyle recently graduated from Wake Forest University (WFU) obtaining his bachelor's degree in Chinese Language & Culture with a double minor in Psychology and Politics & International Affairs. While still in his undergrad, Kyle traveled abroad to study Mandarin at National Taiwan University (NTU). During this time, he interned at a Taiwanese government watchdog organization called Citizen Congress Watch (公督盟), where he translated short news articles from Chinese to English, and performed grammatical transposition on legislative documents.
Aside from Taiwan, Kyle has traveled and been exposed to a number of Southeast Asian cultures, including Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Singapore where he lived for four years.
